Highlight is a great feature if you want to give emphasis to an image or video you have posted to your Facebook business page—whether that is a flyer for an event, an image of a new product, or a customer testimonial video you want to stand out on your page. Highlighting will give your post larger real estate, which will catch your viewer’s eye. Unlike pinning a post, your highlighted post will not stay at the top of your page. It will move downward as you continue to create new posts, but the image will stay its large size.
-To highlight a post, put your cursor over the upper-right corner of a post. A star icon will appear. Click the star to highlight a post and unclick the star to unhighlight the post.
-Unlike pinned posts, highlighted posts do not stay at the top of your Timeline. Instead, they remain in chronological order and are pushed down the Timeline with every new status update created.
-Unlike pinned posts, there are no time limitations for a highlighted post.
-You cannot pin and highlight a post at the same time. It’s one or the other.
When you have something you want your viewer to see right off the bat on your business page, such as a new event, a limited-time coupon, or an update to the service you provide, Facebook offers a feature called pinning. continue »
You are your brand’s best advocate, so go ahead and tell everyone about the great services, special events, and interesting places to visit in your area. When boasting, however, always keep in mind that moderation is best!
Host Contests and Giveaways to Promote Your Brand
Contests and giveawaysare one of the best ways to rapidly increase your fan base on all of your social platforms. Try offering a complimentary appetizer at a local restaurant or a free pair of movie tickets to a theater.
Diversify Your Content
Facebook offers several different options for uploading a variety of content, from status updates to photos and videos, from web links to question polls. A business’s Facebook page should maintain an active and interesting range of content that will keep your friends and fans coming back for more.
Offer Booking Options on Facebook
Tourism and travel agencies are now giving their customers the ability to book portions of travel directly from the agency’s Facebook page. Once your customers are with you on Facebook, you can keep them by offering booking options at their fingertips.
Post Fabulous Photography
Nothing sells a location like really great photos! If a location doesn’t look appealing, a potential traveler will search out a different one that does. When first impressions mean everything, why not put your travel destinations in the best light?
Don’t Forget about Community
You want your brand to be “Liked” or “Followed,” so make sure to do the same for neighboring businesses in your community or industry. When followers of other pages see that your travel business “Likes” what they “Like,” those fans are much more likely to check out your page.
